Requesting official transcripts via SPIRE:
If you ever had access to SPIRE, please request your transcripts via your student center. If you need help accessing your SPIRE account, please use the 'Forgot Your Password?' option on the SPIRE page. An email with your SPIRE ID and password will be sent to your non-OIT address. If you are unable to do so please contact the OIT Help Center.
You have the option of having the transcript mailed, picking it up in the University Registrar's Office (213 Whitmore) or authorizing someone to pick up your transcript for you. Important: if you need the transcript to reflect grading for a specific term or to show degree information, generate an unofficial transcript first to determine if the information has been posted to your record. Requesting official transcripts via mail or fax:
If you do not have a SPIRE login or you are a non-degree student, the University Registrar's Office will send out your official transcript(s) upon receipt of your written authorization. Your request must include:
• your signature
• all names used on your academic record (last, first, middle/maiden/other name)
• Student ID # or Social Security number
• your date of birth
• your address, telephone number and email address
• any additional information which will enable us to locate your record
Please send complete addresses of where you want your transcripts sent. Also indicate how many copies you want sent to each address. To be official, the transcript must be sent through the mail directly to a third party or to the student in a confidential envelope with the signature of the Registrar on the back of the envelope for use in packaged applications. Alternately, a student may request that their official transcript be held for pick up in the Registrar's Office, 213 Whitmore Administration Building. Requests for pickup must be made at least three business days in advance. The Registrar's Office does not deliver transcripts via email for any reason.
If you entered the University prior to September of 1990 or you are a non-degree student, Official transcripts are $6.00 per copy. Please make your check payable to the University of Massachusetts.
If you entered the University in September of 1990 or thereafter, your transcripts are free, since you have paid the Registrar Service Fee.
