Focus Connections
Description
Focus RAPs are designed for first-year students who have not yet
declared a major. In addition to the benefit of living with students in their classes,
students work closely with their advisor to explore various academic majors and
determine how to best match the options with their interests and abilities.
Students participate in a structured program to identify and advance towards
their academic goals. All Focus RAPs include the OASIS First-Year Seminar (Opportunities for Academic Success with Individualized Support)
and are housed in residential halls dedicated to first year students.
FOCUS CONNECTIONS is intended for students interested
in a variety of majors including; Psychology, Sociology, English, History, and
Education. Classes available will assist students in learning about different options,
completing pre-requisites for some of the majors, and making progress on their Gen Ed
requirements.

At a Glance
Students enroll in:
- College Writing 112 in the residential area
- A small Gen Ed class or discussion section in the residential area
- A reserved seat in a popular Gen Ed lecture class on the main campus.
- Participation in OASIS (The OASIS First-Year Seminar includes strategies for student success and major exploration activities).
