Environmental Sciences TAP

The Environmental Sciences department offers a Talent Advanced Program (TAP) for a select group of students admitted into this major. TAPs are specialized academic learning communities that are offered by invitation only, based on criteria set by the department. TAPs provide first-year students with a variety of opportunities for a successful transition to the academic and social life at the University of Massachusetts, Amherst.

Students who choose to participate in the Environmental Sciences TAP (ENVIROTAP) will:
  1. Live together in Moore Hall in the Southwest Residential Area of campus.
  2. Enroll in a section of College Writing 112 - taught in the residential area.
  3. Enroll in other designated classes with ENVIRO TAP students, including an introductory seminar.
  4. Meet faculty members "up close and personal" through a variety of academic opportunities offered by the department.

If you were invited to this program, please be sure to read all of the information in the letter from Professor Guy R. Lanza. We also encourage you to read the letters from current ENVIROTAP students, referred to as "Student Ambassadors" linked below.

Remember to attend to the timelines and procedures to join this program!!
For additional information about TAPs, please refer to the TAP index and TAP FAQs. Thanks!
