Development staff changes announced

Several staffing changes have occurred in the Development Office in recent weeks.
David Markland, who formerly served as senior financial analyst in the Budget Office, is the new director of Information and Donor Services. Markland has more than 16 years of experience in accounting processes and procedures. He served on Development's internal Continuous Quality Improvement (CQI) team involved in the process redesign of records and gift processing. He also has done extensive work with the PeopleSoft implementation and is expected to be a major player in Development's database conversion.

Rachel Koziol, who was assistant director for Membership in the Office of Alumni Relations, moved to Development as a gift administrator in Records and Gift Processing. Also at Records and Gift Processing, Lisa Prouty has been hired as a clerk III. For the past year, Prouty was an 03 staffer in the department.

Laurie Whitaker was recently promoted from researcher to senior researcher. She joined the Development staff in December 2000 after working at the UMass Medical School in Worcester.

Meanwhile, Steve Tanne, director of Development in the College of Natural Sciences and Mathematics, resigned to become vice president for development at Baystate Health Systems and the executive director of Baystate Health Foundation.
