Edward P. O'Neil, 63, of Pelham, a retired AV equipment
technician in Communications, died March 2 in Cooley Dickinson
Hospital in Northampton.
He served the University for 38 years before retiring
in 1997. He subsequently worked as a projectionist and stagehand
at the Academy of Music in Northampton.
He was a member of the International Alliance of
Theatrical Stage Employees Local 232.
A veteran of the U.S. Air Force, he had traveled
to a number of European countries with his family.
He was a communicant of St. Brigid's Church and
a member of the Knights of Columbus Council 1619.
He leaves his wife of 37 years, Mary A. O'Neil,
a clerk IV in Art; three daughters, Margaret A., Patricia A.,
a computer specialist in the Library, and Colleen M. Wetzel, a
clerk III in Art, all of Amherst; two sons, Timothy D. of Lenox
and Edward D. of Germany; two brothers, Gerald of Amherst and
John of Pelham; a sister, and several nieces and nephews.
