Williams to update budget situation at extra Faculty Senate meeting

he Faculty Senate will meet for an extra session this semester 3:30 Thursday, Dec. 13 in 227 Herter, to hear a budget update from interim Chancellor Marcellette G. Williams.

     The senate also will receive the annual report by the Status of Women Council and hear a special report by the Ad Hoc Committee on Admissions Practices and Minority Recruitment concerning the recruitment of ALANA undergraduates, a special report of the General Education Council concerning the designation of social and cultural diversity courses, and a special report of the Rules Committee concerning the establishment of an ad hoc committee on sustainability.

     Because the meeting is scheduled to occur after the last Chronicle print deadline until mid-January, it will not be covered in the newsprint version of the Chronicle; however, readers will be able to view the story in the Web and e-mail versions of the Chronicle by Dec. 17.
