Faculty Senate opens year Sept. 20
he first Faculty Senate meeting of the 2001-02 academic year will feature addresses by interim Chancellor Marcellette Williams and interim Senior Vice Chancellor for Academic Affairs and Provost Charlena Seymour. The meeting is scheduled for Thursday, Sept. 20 at 3:30 p.m. in 227 Herter Hall.
Senators will hear a report from the Rules Committee on a motion passed at the senate's final meeting last May that asked the campus administration, the Department of Consumer Studies faculty, and the committee to work together to generate a concrete plan for restoring and renewing the department.
Senators also will elect an associate delegate to the Board of Trustees and the chair of the Rules Committee and consider the annual reports of the Research Library Council, the Foreign and International Studies Council and the Graduate Council for the previous academic year.
