nthony," an award-winning screenplay by Theater professor Julian Olf, has been selected for a reading at Drama Garage, a showcase of screenwriters for Hollywood executives.
The reading, which is scheduled for Sept. 12, will take place at Sound Stage 8 in Occidental Studios in Hollywood.
The reading is being directed by Carmella Cardina and read by Will Wallace ("Thin Red Line," "The Evening Star"), Jennifer Morrison ("Urban Legend II," "Stir of Echoes"), and Harrison Young ("Saving Private Ryan," "Buffy, the Vampire Slayer").
"'Anthony' has continued to get a lot of attention at national competitions," Olf said. "But this is terribly exciting because it's a professional reading using professional actors and a professional director." "Anthony" won a gold award in the Dramatic Adaptation category of screenwriting at WorldFest, an annual international film festival last year, and the screenplay also has been a finalist in the Upstream Productions competition and is a finalist in America's Best Screenplay for 2000, sponsored by the Writer's Guild.
"I've been busy preparing a reading script, which is quite different from the screenplay script, because it has to include information that would be presented visually in a film," Olf said.
Olf flies to California Sept. 10 for a rehearsal. |
