Second 2-week budget expected

nother two-week, interim state budget was awaiting Senate action this week as the Chronicle went to press.

Acting Gov. Jane Swift filed the measure last week and the House approved the 1/26 budget on Tuesday. The Senate was scheduled to be in session on Thursday, allowing enough time for a vote before the current interim budget expires on Friday.

If approved and signed by Swift, the two-week package will fund state operations, including salaries, through July 28.
