by Daniel
J. Fitzgibbons, Chronicle staff
enior Vice Chancellor and Provost Cora B. Marrett
was passed over this week for the presidency of Iowa State University
as the state board of regents appointed the provost of the University
of Maryland to the post.
Marrett was one
of four finalists for the job, which went to Gregory Geoffroy, who

for the chancellor's post.
Marrett has been

since 1999.
