Visit by VC candidate canceled

by Sarah R. Buchholz, Chronicle staff

The search committee for the vice chancellor for Research announced Wednesday that it had canceled next week's visit by candidate Larry Lemanski, associate vice president for research at Texas A&M University. The visit had been planned for Nov. 6-7.

"He has not given his reasons, but the search committee felt it was too close to the deadline, so we had to cancel in the absence of a direct response from the candidate," said Michael Malone, head of the Chemistry Department and chair of the search committee. Lemanski was to have been the fourth candidate to visit campus.

The Provost's Office is requesting that evaluations of the first three candidates—Richard K. Koehn, P. Michael Conn and W. Richards Adrion—be sent to 362 Whitmore by Friday, Nov. 3.
