Observing University smoking policy
With the warmer months upon us many offices have their windows
open. We have been receiving complaints that odors from smoking
have been a nuisance to personnel in buildings. We want to remind
everyone that the University policy states that "...you must be
at least 20 feet from any entrance or air supply intake to prevent
smoke from entering the building." In addition the policy also
states that "the Chancellor, through the Vice Chancellors, Deans,
Directors, and Department Heads, is responsible for compliance
with this policy."
Cigarette butts should be disposed of in the appropriate containers
prior to re-entering the building. Thank you for complying with
this policy.
A complete copy of this policy may be obtained by calling Environmental
Health and Safety at 5-2682.
