December 2007
The Annual Meeting of the Entomological Society of America (ESA) was held on December 9-12, 2007 at the Town and Country Resort and Convention Center in San Diego, California. Many of our UMass Plant, Soil & Insect Sciences (PSIS) Entomology professors, staff, & students attended, and several gave research presentations. Highlights of the ESA meeting, including presentations, awards, and photographs can be found at:

The theme of the 2007 ESA meeting was "Making Connections: Innovation, Initiative, Influence." Our PSIS Entomologists made "connections" of their own at the Department-sponsored UMass Mixer on December 10th. Alumni and Friends of PSIS were invited to meet with our current personnel to reminisce and catch up on the latest developments at UMass PSIS. Our people were happy to see former UMass Entomology professors, staff, and students, and to find out what they've been up to lately. The success of our former Entomology students is always a nice reflection on the quality of the academic program offered at UMass.
