Over 200 photos were submitted to the Fernald Club's 1st Annual Shutter-Bug Insect Photo Contest in May 2009. Choosing the top three among so many excellent entries was very difficult. After careful consideration, the panel of judges (see below) selected their favorites. The 1st, 2nd and 3rd place winning photographers were invited by the Fernald Club and the Departmental of Plant, Soil, & Insect Sciences to a Winner Announcement Party in Fernald Hall on June 19th. And the winners are:

1st Place: $100 and his framed photo permently displayed in Fernald Hall
Shane Conklin
Deputy Director of Facilities & Campus Planning

2nd Place: $50
Michelle Labbe
Graduate Student, Wildlife & Fisheries Conservation

3rd Place: $25
Sean Werle
Departmental Assistant, Biology
