Vendor Bid Information and Instructions for Construction Related Projects Request for Bids (RFB) Chapter 149 and Chapter30 and 39M are posted to the Procurement web site at http://www.umass.edu/procurement/constructionprojects.htm to allow all interested and qualified vendors the opportunity to review and submit a bid response. They are also listed on the Procurement bulletin board in 407 Goodell, and if required in the Central Register. To request Bid documents please stop in to the Procurement Department located at the University of Massachusetts Amherst, 407 Goodell Building, 140 Hicks Way, Amherst, MA 01003 or call our office at 413.545.0361. A refundable deposit for these documents may be required. Vendors are encouraged to review all Plan Documents and view the actual site. RFB’s may list pre-bid meetings; if the meeting is listed as “mandatory” all interested vendors must be present and sign in at the pre-bid meeting. Failure to attend a mandatory prebid meeting will be automatic cause for rejection of bid. It is the responsibility of the vendor to familiarize themselves with the requirements of the RFB. GENERAL PROCEDURES All RFB’s will contain instructions and forms specific to the RFB that should be completed and returned to the Procurement Department prior to the bid opening date. Verbal agreements or instructions from any source are not authorized. All bids list a date and time that the responses are due by. There is also a location that the bids must be received at. Bid responses must be received in the Procurement Office by the due date and time specified. Please note that these dates and locations are critical since bids received after the deadline or at other locations will be rejected. Current open bids can be viewed at: http://www.umass.edu/procurement/constructionprojects.htm Awarded Bids can be viewed at: http://www.umass.edu/procurement/awardedconstructionprojects.htm Awarded Bid information lists all RFB’s that have been opened and awarded within the last 60 days. Awards beyond the 60 day limit can be reviewed by contacting the Procurement Department by calling 413.545.0361 and requesting an appointment to review the RFB. If you have any questions on a specific award, please e-mail the contact person listed on the RFB. The contact person will research your questions and respond in a timely manner.
