Photo Note: The Durfee Conservatory is caring for Captain Peter Holmsten's collection of 33 bonsai trees while the Captain is on active duty abroad (FULL STORY link). Captain Holmsten, Department Head Peter Veneman, and John Tristan (former Durfee Supervisor) are pictured here (left to right) at a visit to Durfee in March 2003, just before the Captain was redeployed to the Middle East. The trees are safe, and in very capable hands. We hope the Captain returns home safely to enjoy his bonsai trees once again.
