Continuing
Education
Part-time
students and others interested in learning about Plants, Soils, and Insects
are encouraged to "sign-up" for Department courses through the University
Continuing Education Program. Generally, these courses are offered
one evening a week for the semester and cover the same instructional
material as offered in the regular day class. If desired, Continuing
Education classes can be taken for credit and transferred into regular
University programs. There is also an Entomology Graduate course, ENTOMOL 671 Using Insects in the Classroom and Outdoor Setting available ONLINE through Continuing Education. Please contact Continuing Education for more information.
Many
students prefer courses in the evening due to generally smaller
class size and a more relaxed learning environment. All ages are
welcome and a typical class will have seniors and younger people.
A continuing education class may be a first course at the University
for some students, while for other students the course may be part
of a regular degree program. Many people take a Plant, Soil & Insect Sciences
course through Continuing Education because of a special interest
in the class material.
In addition to courses, the following formal Plant and Soil Sciences
programs are offered through the UMass Division of Continuing Education:
