Zoe (Zohar) Geva

I did my BA in Criminology and Philosophy at Bar Ilan University in Israel. After graduating I went traveling for 7 months in India, Nepal and Thailand and ended up my trip in Canada. There, I did my MA in Philosophy at the University of British Columbia. Now I am here at UMASS to do my PhD. My main interest is the free will question -- are we free? What is it to be free? Is the experience of free will an illusion? The question has metaphysical, epistemological and ethical aspects, as well as an important connection to issues in the philosophy of mind. Thus, my philosophical interest touches all these areas, especially the metaphysical one.
