Directions to Exam Sites
EXAM APPLICATIONS: The applications to take any of the pesticide exams must be obtained from the Department of Agricultural Resources @ (617) 626-1785.
NOTE: The exam candidate, by using these directions, should be aware that they are given for the sole purpose of guidance, and further, that the exam candidate does not in any way relinquish or waive their responsibility to arrive on time at any state pesticide licensure examination.
TELEPHONE ALERT: The facility managers of the below listed exam sites ask that you do not call them. Exams are only given at these locations. Regrettably, they do not have staff that can answer your exam and/or license questions. Call the Pesticide Bureau (617) 626-1785, in Boston if you have exam and/or license questions.
EXAM POLICY NOTE: In the event of a postponement and/or cancellation (including but not limited to snow dates) due to circumstances beyond the control of the Department, it reserves the right to reschedule all exam candidates to the very next pre-scheduled examination.
To Reach the UMass Eastern Extension Center (Waltham Field Station)
240 Beaver St. Waltham, MA
Please note: The directions listed below to the UMass Eastern Extension Center are substantially different from those listed in the Pesticide Examination and License Information Bulletin. We think that these directions will be easier to follow. Allow extra time because there is significant construction going on during the summer months.
From the West:
Take Exit 14 off the Massachusetts Turnpike and follow signs to Route 95/128 North. Continue as directed in the "From the South" below.
From the South:
Take Route 95/128 North to Totten Pond Road, exit 27A. At end of exit ramp turn right at the lights onto Totten Pond Road. Go to end of Totten Poad Rd. (approximately 1 mile). Get into the center lane and turn right and bear left at the fork onto Lexington Street; then turn left at first traffic light onto Beaver Street. Travel 3/4 around the rotary to stay on Beaver Street. UMass Eastern Extension Center is on the right about 1 mile from the rotary.
From the North:
Take Route 95/128 North to Totten Pond Road, exit 27A. At end of exit ramp turn right out onto Totten Pond Road. Go to end of Totten Poad Rd. (approximately 1 mile). Get into the center lane and turn right and bear left at the fork onto Lexington Street; then turn left at first traffic light onto Beaver Street. Travel 3/4 around the rotary to stay on Beaver Street. UMass Eastern Extension Center is on the right about 1 mile from the rotary.
From Boston-East:
Follow Storrow Drive West or Memorial Drive West to the end and follow signs towards Arlington. Bear left at the sign "16 South Watertown Waltham". Go approximately 4/10 mile and turn right onto Belmont Street (after Star Market). Turn right onto Trapelo Road and continue for 1.7 miles. Take left onto Waverly Oaks Road (sign reads "60 Waltham to Route 20). Take right at next traffic light onto Beaver Street. The UMass Eastern Extension Center is 4/10 mile on the left.
Public Transportation:
Take the MBTA Red Line to Harvard/Brattle stop in Harvard Square. From there that the #73 Trackless Trolley marked Waverly Square. Buses #54 and #521 Waverly Square Newton Corner leaves Waverly Square and travels along Beaver Street. UMass Eastern Extension Center is located at 240 Beaver Street.
To Reach Upper Cape Cod Regional Technical School, 220 Sandwich Road, Bourne, MA 02532
From the North: Take Route 3 South to the Sagamore Rotary. Take the first right over the Sagamore Bridge (Route 6E). Take the first exit ramp. Turn left onto Sandwich Road. Upper Cape Tech is approximately 3.2 miles on the left, just past Gallo Skating Rink.
From the South: Take Route 28 North to the Bourne Rotary. Take the first exit off the Rotary onto Sandwich Road. Upper Cape Tech is the first driveway on the right.
From the East: Take Route 6 West to the last exit before the Sagamore Bridge. Take the first left at Adams Street. Turn left onto Sandwich Road. Upper Cape Tech is approximately 3.2 miles on the left, just past Gallo Skating Rink.
From the West: Take Route 195 East. Merge onto MA Route 25 East. Once over the Bourne Bridge, take the third right off the rotary onto Sandwich Road. Upper Cape Tech is the first driveway on the right..
To Reach Springfield Technical Community College (STCC)
From Route 91 going South, follow Hartford Signs to Exit 7, Springfield Center and follow State Street sign to first light. Go left under highway to State Street and take Federal Street. From Route 91 going North take exit 4 Broad Street and follow East Columbus Avenue to 3rd light. Turn right on State Street. Proceed on State Street to Federal Street. From Mass Turnpike take Exit 6 and turn left onto Rout 291. Take Armory street exit. Go around Rotary and take Armory Street going South. Stay on Armory Street until you come to Federal Street. Note: The exam is usually held in the cafeteria (Building 20) on Pearl Street side of campus. Campus security are present and usually can direct you.
