Baktha received his bachelor’s degree in chemical engineering from National Institute of Technology (NIT), Trichy and master’s degree in chemical engineering from UMass Amherst. As a part of his MS research, he has had elaborate experience working on obtaining vascularized channels in tissue mimicking hydrogels for studying cancer metastasis. His PhD research will focus on the development of microfluidic platforms for time-resolved protein crystallography. Apart from research, he enjoys cooking, reading books (both fiction & non-fiction) and going on hikes.
