Alistaire Rauch (he/him)

Biographical Statement

Alistaire graduated with his B.S. in Chemical Engineering (with a biochemical concentration) in May 2023. During his time at UMass, he held the position of Creative Media Chair in the Society of Asian Scientists and Engineers (SASE) and Community Liaison in his residence hall. He was also an active member of AIChE and Engineers without Borders. During his free time, he enjoys drawing and playing tennis with friends.

He worked first on a project in collaboration with Prof. Anne Gershenson from the Department of Biochemistry and Molecular Biology on a project to use microfluidics to study protein folding diseases.

Alistaire completed his honors thesis research in collaboration with Prof. Ashish Kulkarni related to microfluidics and cancer.

In summer 2022, Alistaire worked as an intern at Emulate.

After graduating from UMass, Alistaire will be joining the group of Prof. Joel Collier in the Department of Biomedical Engineering at Duke University as a PhD student!
