What Counts? Including Public Engagement in Faculty Evaluation

Recently, the American Sociological Association released a seminal report, What Counts? Evaluating Public Communication at Tenure and Promotion. Come hear scholars discuss the opportunities and challenges of including public engagement in faculty evaluation and reputations of excellence. Featured speakers include: Amy Schalet (Associate Professor of Sociology, Director of the Public Engagement Project), Scott Auerbach (Professor of Chemistry, Founding Director of the Integrated Concentration in Science Program), and David Glassberg (Professor of History, Founder of the Public History Project). Moderated by: Laurel Smith-Doerr (Professor of Sociology, Director of the Institute for Social Science Research).
