Faculty member Craig Blatz investigates group-level apologies and offers of reparation for historical injustices, and the ways in which these apologies may or may not contribute to the reconciliation of intergroup conflict. 

He has studied these issues in cases such as the Canadian government’s apology to the Chinese community for the historical “Head Tax” and in cases of victimization and abuse of Aboriginal children.
