PBS is Seeking Social Media Ambassadors

Support Undergraduate Student Success

#GetPSYCHED to #MeetMeInTobin!

The PBS Strategic Initiatives Fund strengthens our support for undergraduate majors! Here are some examples of the many valuable supports and experiences we provide for our undergraduates:

  • Conference travel awards. Undergraduate major Ilhan Braxton, a research assistant in the Clinical Affective Science Lab, recently attended the Diversifying Clinical Psychology Networking Reception, where she had the opportunity to meet with directors of clinical psychology PhD programs, engage in professional development workshops, and present her original research. This undergraduate travel was made possible with financial support from PBS, the PBS Graduate Student Diversity Committee, and the Council of University Directors for Clinical Psychology.
  • The Undergraduate Honors Research Symposium held each April in Tobin Hall. This event gives undergraduates the opportunity to share their excellent research with faculty, graduate students, and peers. It’s a celebration of our students’ honors theses, their hard work, and the valuable outcomes of their research.
  • Purchase of research materials and poster printing. PBS helps to provide undergraduate research assistants with the materials they need to complete their research projects, and to disseminate their findings!
  • NEW! Career Fair and Networking Events. During the fall 2017 semester, PBS offered an exciting new event at the Marriott Room of the Campus Center, where students enrolled in Psych 494 (Interdisciplinary Directions in Psychology) received career and academic advice, meeting representatives from local and national businesses, non-profit organizations, graduate programs, and state and federal agencies. In Spring 2018, we will expand this Career Fair and Networking Event so all psychology majors can participate!
