The Developmental Science Initiative (DSI) at UMass Amherst brings together researchers from Psychological and Brain Sciences’ multiple divisions, and colleagues from other UMass Amherst and Five Colleges departments and disciplines. We are striving to highlight and build a research and training program that approaches human development by integrating research across multiple domains (e.g., biological, physical, healthy, cognitive, affective, social) and levels of analysis (e.g., neurological, behavioral, relational) to examine the influence of their interactions across the lifespan. Faculty use diverse methods to study a wide array of developmental outcomes that make a difference in the daily lives of developing person and their families and communities.
