Email to the Campus Community

Bluewall Event at 8 p.m. September 12, 2001

All members of the campus community are invited to attend a discussion/reflection on the Sept. 11 tragedies, to be held in the Bluewall Cafeteria, located on the second floor of the Campus Center, starting at 8 p.m. Complementary pizza, desserts, and beverages will be provided. The event is to help the UMass community come together for support and affirmation in the wake of yesterday's tragic events. Counseling staff will be available for dialogue and discussion. Free parking is available at the Campus Center Garage.

Planning Sessions

Academic deans are working with faculty members to plan a series of academic events to help the campus community try to understand and deal with the Sept. 11 tragedy and aftermath. Details will be sent via e-mail and posted on the Web as soon as possible.

Letter to Parents

A letter is being prepared for families of undergraduates, describing the various events on campus and how the campus is attempting to cope and come together. The letter, which will include information about who to contact on campus with various concerns, is signed by Chancellor Marcellette G. Williams, Provost Charlena Seymour, and Vice Chancellor for Student Affairs and Campus Life F. Javier Cevallos.
