Budget Advocacy

Email to UMass Faculty and Staff
March 6, 2002

UMass Faculty and Staff:

I am writing to ask you to contact your Massachusetts state legislators to fund the University's budget needs. Currently, Massachusetts is facing tough economic times. As a result, state legislators must make hard choices in funding next year's state budget. As members of this vibrant University community, we know what a tremendous value this University brings to the Commonwealth, and that education is the best investment the state can make for the future.

I suggest that you visit the web site www.umass.edu/actnow for links to information on positive and effective ways to speak about the University to legislators and key opinion leaders in the state. I also urge you to forward this email to your families and friends to encourage them to act now for UMass!

Thank you for your support.
