V. Components of the Multi-Year Plan
     B. Expenditures
          (11) Restructuring $ 2.8M

There are several components to our Restructuring plan, including Administrative Redesign, Continuous Quality Improvement, and the Retirement Incentive Plan. We are also proposing a number of new reporting relationships, including joint reporting to provide greater synergy across different administrative areas. Further changes are proposed in the structure of major administrative areas, including the areas of Vice Chancellor for Research, Graduate Education and Economic Development, Provost and Vice Chancellor for Academic Affairs, Deputy Chancellor and Vice Chancellor for Student Affairs. Several offices are reorganized to meet modern needs. Advisory committees are structured to be more effective and efficient. In total we believe that the restructuring will lead to better functioning of key administrative areas as well as savings in overall costs.
