I wish to thank all the members of the Task Forces and Working Groups, who have provided a template for the future of the University, and the many faculty, staff and students who have worked to turn these ideas into unit plans. I also wish to thank all the administrators who have synthesized these plans at all levels to provide the first steps for actions and implementation. I appreciate the thoughtful commentary received through letters, E-mail, and conversations involving hundreds of people on and off-campus. In particular, I wish to thank the Deputy Chancellor, the Vice Chancellors and their staff, together with our ACE Fellows, Francisco Marmolejo and Susan Awbrey, for ideas and directions with grace, humor and imagination.
