Living Off Campus
Resources for parents whose students live off campus
Many students, especially those in their junior or senior year, elect to move off-campus. We've pulled together some of the resources available to help your students transition from life in the residence halls to living on their own.
Off Campus Student Services
Off Campus Student Services is an online resource that allows students to search for apartments, houses and rooms for rent; browse room/housemate profiles; and visit pertinent links and other tenant resources.
Commuting to Campus
Information on getting to campus as a commuter including parking options, bus schedules, and biking is available through Parking Services .
Understanding Community Bylaws
If your student is living off campus in a rented house, room, or apartment, please encourage him or her to review the bylaws of the town in which they reside. Students will find information on state laws and local bylaws in the Daily Planner for Academic Success.
For students living off campus in the town of Amherst, residents must abide by the Amherst, MA Bylaws.
Campus & Community Coalition
The Camps & Community Coalition (CCC) works to promote responsible decision-making about alcohol and other drug use on and off campus. More about the CCC is available on their website.
