Fall and Winter Welcome
We welcome new UMass families to campus on move-in day for first-year students. Staff, students and parent volunteers will be on hand at the Campus Center Concourse, Friday, August 30 from 10 a.m. - 6 p.m. to greet families, share resources and answer questions. We also have a special surprise for you to make for your UMass student!
Student Care Supply Closets
OPS will collect toiletries during first-year students move-in day (August 30) in the Campus Center Concourse to help replenish the five Student Care Supply Closets throughout campus. Supply closets offer free toiletries and other household items to low-income students and/or students facing an unexpected financial emergency.
For families who want to donate online and ship items directly to the Dean of Students office, a wishlist of most requested items is available at amazon.com.
- For families who want to donate during move-in day on August 30, OPS will accept items in the Campus Center Concourse from 10 a.m. – 6 p.m. Please note we cannot accept laundry detergent, mouthwash, or razors if you plan to drop off items in person.
Foster Student Success Fund
UMass Amherst Parents Association Advisory Council, in close collaboration with the Dean of Students Office, has spearheaded the creation of the Foster Student Success Fund. The Foster Success Student Fund is designed to support UMass Amherst students who are currently in foster care, have experienced foster care, or are aging out of the foster care system. The fund helps to ensure that students who have experienced foster care have access to resources that will help them transition to college and achieve academic and career success. Families can make a gift directly to the Foster Student Success Fund.
We appreciate your contribution and generosity!
