Undergraduate Advising: Making the Most of the Major

As students begin course registration for Fall 2014, they may find themselves contemplating majors, minors, and certificates—either because it is time for them to declare one or they want to change or add a new one. Here are some things for parents to keep in mind when discussing your student’s major and academic interests.

Exciting News

and a Chance to Help UMass Reach #1

UMass Amherst has been selected as a finalist for the national Second Nature Climate Leadership Award this winter and has been given the opportunity to enter a short video detailing our award winning sustainability efforts in a national public voting competition in April.

Voting takes place April 1-April 14 and votes are tallied daily. We're excited to share this news and are asking the UMass community and all parents of UMA students to come out and lend their support by going online each day and voting for our Sustainable UMass video (and asking friends and family to do the same).

Thank you to the parents of our UMass students for voting in support of our extraordinary green student leaders and our outstanding faculty and staff here at UMass.

Here's to another exciting and impactful UMass Amherst achievement.
