The Office of Undergraduate Research & Studies (OURS) is a resource for all undergraduates in all majors and at all stages of experience. OURS helps students find research and scholarly opportunities on and off campus, throughout the year. Students are also supported in preparing for and navigating the application process.

For a one on one meeting, please contact the Office of Undergraduate Research & Studies ours@acad.umass.edu or visit us on the 10th floor of the W. E. B. Du Bois Library.

What our students have to say about the Office of Undergraduate Research & Studies:

- Taught me about different university opportunities that I didn't even know existed. Made me feel like I wasn't alone in my quest to find work over the summer, but I had someone helping me who knew how to navigate this

- They listened to what I had in mind and gave me plenty of options and ideas

- After asking me what I was interested in and what I was looking for, they provided me with a great variety of opportunities

- Showed me ways to search ongoing research on campus, this helped me connect to a research professor and has opened up future possibilities of work

- When searching for REUs, the office was able to locate several opportunities that I was not aware of, and these opportunities were relevant to my academic interests

- Very supportive and willing to help me find opportunities

- Provided resources for how to go about getting internships and other positions and what the timeline typically looks like for undergraduates

- It was helpful in letting me know how and when to contact professors about lab openings

- Received info on how to contact people, ideas for professors

- Helped me realize how many potential internships there are out there for medical students. Also helped me plan what I want to do for future summers while I am an undergraduate

- They helped me organize my future research endeavors and continued to follow up with me

- Provided me with a lot of useful resources, and knowledge that I would not have known about

- They helped me get into a lab on campus, and find summer opportunities to apply for

- The office has helped me become involved in research on campus as well as find off campus internships. I have found help searching for the right internships to apply for to be most helpful

- Helped me find potential faculty research labs to apply to and also helped me to prepare to apply for internships in the coming school year

- Opened my eyes to new research opportunities to consider

- They did extensive research to help me find the best opportunities
