Undergraduate Research Internships

CGS works with a number of Pittsburgh-based institutions to provide meaningful hands-on research internships for undergraduate science and engineering students. In addition, CGS independently provides competitive stipends for 3-5 exceptional undergraduate summer interns each year. Students are encouraged to consider returning for multiple years as this provides them with the best chance to actually conduct their own research project. This project is coordinated by Dr. Garth Ehrlich, CGS Executive Director and Dr. Fen Hu, CGS Operations Director.
Pittsburgh Tissue Engineering Initiative
For each of the past five years CGS scientists, Dr. Garth Ehrlich and Dr. Sandeep Kathju, have sponsored a PTEI Summer Intern to work on the Scarless Wound Healing Program. Applications for this internship must be submitted directly to the PTEI. See (www.ptei.org) for application information

CGS Summer Internship Program
If you've ever wanted to know what the life of a scientist is like, this is the experience you've been looking for. A CGS summer internship provides an intense rewarding hands-on mentored research experience for students seriously considering an academic biomedical career. Prospective interns should contact the Executive Director or Operations Director sometime prior to, or during the beginning of their spring semester. Freshmen through seniors are accepted into the program.
