Whitney Huynh (Class of 2013)
"I am a sophomore biology major. This was my first year looking for internships and I did not know where to start. It was not until I stopped by the OURS table at the "Undergraduate Research Fair for the Life and Natural Sciences, where they were so willing to help me out. They even contacted me after just to meet one on one. There, I met Debra Phillis who is one of the most helpful person I have ever meet. She spent so much time helping me find internships and research opportunities, that in no way will I be able to thank her. Without her, I would be lost in the sea of internships out there. I will be definitely returning back to the OURS office for more help with internships and research." |

"The OURS office is a huge asset to UMASS Amherst, and I am very appreciative towards them for working with me to gain some real-life work experience. As an Anthropology Major with a BDIC concentration in Marketing, I was skeptical that I would ever find a job that fit my interests. After receiving individualized attention from the OURS office (something very unique at such a large school) I was matched with a huge amount of possible internships, and with the help of OURS narrowed them down to ones which I was most interested in. Additionally, I had questions regarding my resume and OURS was very knowledgeable and helped me to update it. It turns out I got an internship this upcoming summer, and truly believe that this experience will give me the confidence I need to search for and apply to jobs after graduation." |

"As an Industrial Engineering student with a focus on alternative energy, the OURS office was extremely helpful when it came time to look for internships and research opportunities for the Summer. The process was friendly and easy - I explained to the staff what specifically I was hoping to work on, and told them locations of interest. They provided me with more opportunities than I could imagine that fit my criteria, and kept in touch to see how things were going. Thanks to the OURS office, I've spoken to multiple employers about opportunities for the Summer."

"OURS office: a great place for student development! The office has provided me with the materials needed to be successful this summer, as I will be an intern at Southern Jamaica Plain Health Center in Boston. I am truly grateful for every single opportunity that the OURS office has shown me, and I do plan to continue to not only utilize the office, but also to refer people to it."
Alyssa Tyas(Class of 2012)
"I am a pre-med Biology Major. I work at the LRC where the OURS program is located and ventured into the office one day to find it extremely helpful. After an initial appointment to discuss my interests and what I was looking to gain (a research program for the summer), I was sent numerous opportunities that perfectly applied to my eligibility and interests. A few more meetings and a bunch of applications later and I was offered a paid summer internship! The OURS program made the application/job hunting process so much easier and much more manageable; they were supportive and helpful throughout the whole process, I am so grateful."
