Academy of Natural Sciences Research Experience for Undergraduate
The Academy of Natural Sciences is hoping to offer Research Experience for Undergraduate (REU) internships for the Summer of 2011, pending funding. Please re-visit this site in early 2011 for an update of REU internship opportunities.
As an institution that houses a museum, curated collections (containing over 17 million biological specimens), and research centers, the Academy of Natural Sciences provides a truly unique REU opportunity. Located in downtown Philadelphia, students get the full city-living experience while they pursue a rich research endeavor. Internships have been awarded to students in all of the following subjects:
In the future, we hope to continue to grant internships in these fields and potentially others, depending on how our staff grows and changes. We thank you for your interest in our program, and encourage you, if eligible, to apply for the summer of 2011. We also suggest that you look at other internships and positions offered by the Academy of Natural Sciences (www.ansp.org/research/opportunities/internship.php).
Additionally, please visit the National Science Foundation's website (www.nsf.gov/crssprgm/reu/reu_search.cfm) to locate other REU programs that may interest you. You may also find REU opportunities listed through the Institute for Broadening Participation's website (www.ibparticipation.org/IBPSummerresearch.asp).
