Human Resources Department offers information regarding family benefits to UMass faculty and staff. Faculty may also wish to consult with the Office of Faculty Development as they have extensive information on work/life concerns.
Back-up Day and Evening Care for Non-Student Employees Human Resources has announced that the campus has partnered with Parents in a Pinch, a national provider of in-home backup child and adult care, to develop a network of in-home providers in the Amherst area as well as in surrounding areas. This benefit is a available to all non student employees. Providers will be screened, certified and managed by Parents in a Pinch. The backup care is available during the day or evening, seven days/week.
STEM Family Travel Initiative is a program to remove travel-related barriers for faculty and post-doc researchers with childcare and dependent-care responsibilities.
Additionally, all campus unions have representative Family Issues and Work/Life Committees. Employees may wish to contact their representatives directly.
Faculty Senate is the representative body responsible for faculty participation in university planning and governance.
Graduate Student Senate is the representative body for graduate students and has influence on most areas of graduate student life.
Student Government Association represents undergraduate students and has influence on most areas of student life.
