Weekly Study Lounge Sessions for Student Parents
Join us for some focused study time while we entertain your kids! Study Lounges allow student parents focused study time while our staff engage your kids in activities in an adjacent space.Students must register and complete our participation agreement using this form. Once registered, we will send you weekly emails to sign up for sessions for the coming week.
When: throughout the semester on
Tuesdays from 3:30 pm-6:30 pm through 5/7/24
Wednesday 5:30 pm-7:30 pm through 5/8/24
Where: UMass University Village Community Center at 990 North Pleasant Street in Amherst
Light snacks provided for weekly Study Lounges. Family meals will be provided for the whole family at the March 26 and 27 Study Lounge sessions.
April Caregiver Brunch - 4/27/24 11am-1pm Berkshire Dining Common
Join us in celebration of the hardest working students on campus—you! UMass Dining Services has reserved a private dining room in Berkshire Dining Common just for us. Take a break with your family and enjoy all that UMass Dining has to offer. Space is limited and registration is required. See the link for more details and to sign up.

Join us on Sunday, 5/19 from 11am–1pm for a family luncheon, games and recognition ceremony to honor our graduating student parents (and their kids!). Open to all student parents and their families. It's our biggest and best event of the year - don't miss it!
When: Sunday May 19th 11am-1pm
Where: UMass Amherst Student Union South Lawn (the lawn behind the library, facing the pond)
We'll have family-friendly games, crafts, a portrait photographer on hand for graduation pics and more! It's a great way to celebrate your hard work, introduce your family to campus, and get to know other student parent families. See the link above to register.
Attention graduating student parents - don't miss out on our SPP recognition for your kids!
Are you a student parent who graduated or are anticipating finishing your degree between September 30th, 2023 and August 30, 2024? If so, please complete this form - we have some surprises in store for you and your family! If you know of other student parents who have finished or will be completing their degrees this year, please pass this information along so that we can recognize their achievement and include them in our graduation recognition planning.
Student Parent Support Groups Spring 2024
Join us for support groups for UMass student parents. SPP support groups are a place for students to connect with other parenting students, share resources and advice, and offer support and encouragement to one another. Click the links for more info and to be added to the group.
- Student Parent Support Group - Spring Dates: The first Thursday of every month from 7:30-8:30pm via Zoom. Click here to join
This support group is for all student parents and is a drop-in group - it's your chance to meet fellow parenting students and to ask questions, express concerns, get/give advice and be in space where others can relate to the challenges of being both a student and a parent.

- Ask a Pediatrician: Keeping Kids Healthy and Introduction to University Health Services Pediatric Care (click the link to view recording)
University Health Services pediatric care providers answer questions and provide useful tips for keeping kids healthy during cold and flu season and offer detailed information about the pediatric services available to student parents through UHS.
- Finding and Paying for Child Care (click the link to view recording)
Representatives from SPP, Seven Hills Child Care Resources, and Head Start answer questions and provide information about beginning a child care search, university subsidies, state vouchers and Head Start early childhood programs.
