The Office of Family Resources understands the challenges of parenting, particularly while managing academic and/or professional responsibilities.
Our programs and services provide UMass families with support, education, and resources, not only to meet those challenges, but to succeed.
This website is intended to provide a snapshot of the family support programs and services available both on the UMass Amherst campus and in the greater Amherst area. Current information is mainly oriented to families with children five years of age or younger.
We hope you find this website useful. If you have any additions or corrections you would like to see incorporated please contact us.
Click here to see the programs we provide OR use the drop down Menu displayed on the left side of this page. The detailed program information area includes pre-registration forms and application forms.
Halloween Related Information for Families:
The Office of Family Resources recognizes that many families will be celebrating the Halloween Holiday with their families. Families that are purchasing costumes should note that the Amherst Survival Center, Goodwill and Salvation Army stores may have used costumes at no or low pricing.
Families that are new to the area should note that many schools (but not all) either celebrate the holiday or have rules governing costume dress for the day. And, as we get closer to the day (Monday, October 31) other events will likely be advertised in the on-line public service announcement section of local newspapers and websites such as Amherst Bulletin, Daily Hampshire Gazette, Hilltown Families, Macaroni Kids Amherst, Valley Advocate, and Valley Kid Stuff.
Also, stay tuned as student groups and campus residence halls may be offering trick or treating.
