JUNG H. YUN
Jung H. Yun is the Director of New
Faculty Initiatives in the Office of Faculty Development. She
holds a Bachelor’s degree in Asian Studies from Vassar College,
a Master’s degree in Public Policy from the University of
Pennsylvania, and a Master’s of Fine Arts in creative writing
from the University of Massachusetts at Amherst.
Prior to joining the UMass Amherst
community, Jung held a variety of positions in the public and
not-for-profit sectors in New York City. She was an Urban Fellow
in the Mayor’s Office of Operations (1995-96), an Assistant Vice
President at the Economic Development Corporation (1996-97),
Special Assistant to the President of the New York Public
Library (1997-2000), and Deputy Director of the Lincoln Center
for the Performing Arts Redevelopment Corporation (2000-2002).
In her previous positions, Jung’s work has covered a number of
areas of responsibility, including administration,
communication, development, program management, and trustee
relations.
Outside of the office, Jung’s fiction has
been recognized by Francis Ford Coppola’s Zoetrope:
All-Story, Glimmertrain Press, and Tin House Magazine.
Most recently, her short story, Han Gahp, was selected for
inclusion in The Best of Tin House fiction anthology
(2006), edited by Dorothy Allison.
