Publications
The Office of Institutional Research produces a series of publications including the following:
- Admissions and Enrollment Report. A statistical report issued semesterly with both a profile of admitted students, and a detailed listing of student majors and course enrollments by department or program and student level.
- Common Data Set (CDS). An annual tool that collects a common set of data for most higher education institutions; many common questions can be answered in this publication, including questions about admissions, transfer students, enrollment, and financial aid.
- Departmental Profiles. Trend analysis (generally 10 years) reported at the departmental level:
- Enrollment - Headcount student majors and full-time equivalent instructed students
- Instructional Activity - Student:faculty ratios
- Sponsored Activity
- Degrees
- Factbook. A reference document for the campus with student, faculty, financial and other institutional data. The Factbook is an electronic publication updated annually.
- Fact Sheets. One page documents covering a range of topics (e.g., enrollment, student charges).
- Fingertip Directory of Academic Affairs. A contact information directory of academic affairs by organizational unit.
- Organizational Chart. A graphic presentation of the relationships and interrelationships within the Amherst campus, identifying the lines of reporting.
- UMass at a Glance. This annual publication provides information about students, faculty and staff, and finances and responds to many of the frequently asked questions about the campus.
