Since 2008, UMass Amherst academic departments have designated learning objectives for their majors. In addition to completing the AQAD Program Review Process and Unit Planning tied to the University Strategic Plan, UMass Amherst’s departments have developed Educational Effectiveness Plans (EEP), where they identify specific lines of inquiry into the effectiveness of their efforts to support student success. Drawing from the essential elements of student learning assessment, EEPs focus on evidence-based inquiry to inform and enhance department/program practices. Each department’s EEP is listed below.
