UMass Center at Springfield Opening Fall 2014
Opening in Fall 2014!
Welcome! We are very excited to announce our fall class offerings in the NEW UMass Springfield Center at Springfield, located on the second floor of the Tower Square building in the heart of downtown Springfield, MA!
The UMass Amherst College of Nursing will have 3 dedicated classrooms in the Center: a new Home Health Simulation Center, a new Telehealth Training Center, and a Health Classroom that will be equipped with exam tables and a “clinic-like” setting. Additionally, we will share with other UMass programs several distance learning classrooms and small group “break-out” rooms, a large 70+ person classroom/event room area, conference rooms, a Student Commons, Computer lab, and many other resources that will make the teaching and learning experience in Springfield very positive, energizing, and stimulating.
College of Nursing Offerings
In addition to our well-respected and thriving online RN to BS nursing program, we are now, in response to community feedback, adding a face-to-face option. We are currently admitting qualified students who prefer this learning style to a Fall Springfield Cohort.
Classes will be offered 3:30-6:15pm and 6:30-9:30pm on Wednesdays, as well as another course offering that will meet every other Saturday. Students may choose to attend full-time and complete the program in 12 months (3 semesters), or part-time options are also available.
For face-to-face class days and times, please click here.
Our face-to-face courses will be offered at the UMass Center at Springfield, located in Tower Square at 1500 Main Street, Springfield, MA.
We recognize that students have different learning styles and that life situations may change over time. Thus, students who are currently enrolled in our online RN to BS program may also choose the face-to-face class option for some of their courses--and, those admitted to the face-to-face cohort may also choose to take some of their courses online--same great courses--two ways to learn. Choose what fits best for YOU!

To meet some learner requests, we are also going to be offering some selected graduate courses in a face-to-face and live, synchronous distance learning mode. Local students can choose to take these core courses live in a classroom, or for students in outlying areas, they may be taken via live, synchronous video-conference.
