On Friday, Septemeber 8th, 79 Nursing Major juniors gathered in Skinner Hall to participate in the College's first annual "Nightingale Ceremony." The ceremony, intended to honor the humanity in nursing, was sponsored by the Arnold P. Gold Foundation.

Students took a pledge, in unison, to uphold the high ideals of nursing before they began their clinical placements the next day. All students signed their name to a book, to be kept in the college, and received a pin from the Gold Foundation to remind them of the pledge they took.

Addresses were given by Dean Stephen Cavanagh and Associate Dean Donna Zucker on nursing ethics and student ambassadors Jessica Lahaie and Amanda Poussard spoke to the significance of the event. Chancellor Kumble R. Subbaswamy was present for the event.
