Dr. Kalpana Poudel-Tandukar Presents at APHA Conference

Dr. Kalpana Poudel-Tandukar, Assistant Professor, College of Nursing did two oral presentations at the American Public Health Association (APHA) conference in Philadelphia, November 2-6, 2019. The theme of the 2019 APHA conference was "Creating the Healthiest Nation: For science. For action. For health."

She presented her promising findings of community-based mental health intervention research which were conducted among Bhutanese immigrants in the United States entitled “Social and Emotional Wellbeing (SEW) Program: A pilot of a church-based culturally tailored preventative behavioral intervention for Bhutanese adults resettled in Western Massachusetts” and among HIV-infected persons in Nepal entitled “Family-engaged preventative behavioral interventions are needed to promote mental health among HIV-infected individuals living in resource-poor settings.”
