How do I get assigned to a faculty advisor?
Advising will be conducted
during the Summer orientation. Thereafter, Liz Theroux, the undergraduate secretary will assign
students to an advisor and each student may check their SPIRE account to find out who
their advisor is.

What is an RAC number?
Registration Access Code is a number assigned by the Registrar's Office
before the pre-registration period. Students must attend a pre-advising session and an appointment with their advisor to review their course progress before the RAC number is given
to them.

The University Sponsors an annual Fall Open House in October that the School of Nursing takes part in, has faculty, staff and current students available to discuss the program. What is the deadline for the application to the Upper Division major? (for current pre-Nursing students only)
The School of Nursing is offering one more opportunity for current Pre-Nursing students to apply for admission to the Upper Division major. Interested students must apply by December 1, 2006, to begin their Upper Division courses Spring 2008. Students continue to take courses and enter into the Upper Division during their junior
year.
When do I get informed about acceptance to Upper Division?
A few months after students apply, they will receive acceptance pending
successful completion of the 2 -year plan.
How should I proceed if I do not gain acceptance to the upper
division major?
· Choose a five-year plan and a minor in another discipline.
· Choose to reapply to the next class.
· Choose to transfer out of the major.
· Choose to transfer to another institution.
What is the minimum g.p.a. or grades in prerequisite/predictor
courses?
At least a "C" (2.0) or better in each prerequisite/predictor
course.
How can I get involved in School of Nursing sponsored activities?
Contact the Student Nurses Association/SNA or the ALANA Nursing Association.

should always give the School of Nursing undergraduate secretary your
most recent email address in order to receive notification of special
events.
How can I keep track of my own course progress?
Fill out your courses on the 2-year plan and look up your GPA and grades
in the SPIRE system.

Begin by planning way earlier than you can even imagine to assure that all your plans
are thorough.

Who should I speak to when I do not fully understand a School
of Nursing procedure?
First call the undergraduate secretary at (413) 545-5096 and she will transfer
you to the proper source.
How should I proceed if I do not pass a course?
· Speak to your faculty advisor.
· Repeat the course in order to replace the grade. Remember, you need a C in all pre-requisite and nursing courses to proceed in the major.
