Important update: Nursing Clinical Simulation Laboratory has now moved to the new renovated Skinner Building in Fall 2008. It is a beautiful state of the art building with the latest Simulation technology.
The Nursing Clinical Simulation Laboratory is dedicated to supporting the vision, mission, and philosophy of the University of Massachusetts School of Nursing. It supports and encourages faculty and students in their educational endeavors, fosters community, and provides modern educational resources, including a clinical simulation environment in which to practice clinical and critical thinking skills.
Making Reservations for the NCSL Rooms and Equipment
Reservations for NCSL rooms and equipment are made through the NCSL director Helene Cunningahm, RN, MS helene@nursing.ummass.edu
Personal Safety
The campus emergency number is 5-5311. Please make sure you have an escort in the evening when coming to or leaving the center.
Allergic Reaction (latex or other)
If the reaction is severe call campus emergency 5-5311 and 911. An epinephrine pen near the sink area in Skinner 211.
Infection Control
Standard Precaution Guidelines from the Centers for Disease Control should be followed if having contact with body fluids and contaminated equipment in the NCSL.
Lost and Found Area
If an item is left or lost at the NCSL, there is a lost and found box in Skinner 211.
Academic Dishonesty
No form of academic dishonesty will be tolerated in the Nursing Clinical Simulation Laboratory. If it occurs it will be immediately reported based on the University guidelines and
consequences will be implemented.

Director Helene Cunningham, RN, MS
Her role is to develop and operate the NCSL to fulfill the vision, mission and philosophy of the School of Nursing. This includes the management and coordination of the daily operation of all areas of the NCSL, short and long-term planning, acquisition of equipment, funding through external sources, and development of clinical simulation. She is available for consulting with faculty about resources in the NCSL for teaching. She also manages the NCSL and Beta Zeta Chapter web pages. You may contact her at:
