Undergraduate Students
New Student Orientation & Transitions (NSOT) depends on and hires many undergraduate students in support of our mission. The qualifications for all undergraduate student staff positions include:
- Current undergraduate at UMass Amherst in good academic standing
- Successful past work experiences, enthusiasm, and the ability to relate quickly and comfortably to new people
- Knowledge about a variety of residential, academic, and social opportunities at UMass Amherst
- An interest and willingness to work with prospective/new students and their families
- High levels of energy and stamina

Graduate Students
New Student Orientation & Transitions (NSOT) hires seasonal graduate interns in support of our mission and summer new student experiences. We filled our available graduate student positions for Summer 2023 and will post information about Summer 2024 in February 2024.
