Join us in welcoming parents and families to the campus community by answering questions and handing out helpful brochures. We’ll have special UMass treats and a chance for them to wish their students well during their first week on campus.
School & College Escorts

Fall NSO is set to begin and students will be gathering in groups according to their School or College at the dining commons to walk to their first meeting of the day. Help new students find their way to the various School and College programs across campus.
T-Shirt Distribution

This year School and College programs are taking place before Convocation. As students arrive at their morning meetings we’ll need help handing out their college t-shirts.
Convocation Greeters

Be among the first to welcome our new students to campus when we gather to celebrate the Class of 2017 at Convocation. We need help greeting, offering directions, and distributing programs to students and campus community members. Once the ceremony starts you are welcome to join the audience.
Adventure Into Amherst

2pm - 5pm
Help new students discover why Amherst has been named the number one college town in the US. We need help decorating, handing out maps, and giving directions to the various businesses participating in this exciting event.
Athletics 101 Assistants

10am - 12noon
Help new students catch the UMass Spirit at the largest pep rally on campus. UMass Athletics is ready to teach the fight song, fan favorite cheers, and introduce the coaches. We need help greeting/directing students and helping folks find their seats.
UFest Set-Up Crew
Sunday, September 1
7am - 4pm
Our first ever Fall NSO festival, the UFest, will feature performances, speakers, interactive displays, food, games and much, much more! We will need lots of assistance getting the area set up and materials in place in preparation for their arrival. We will also need folks stay and help out with activities.
