Advanced Placement (AP) and SAT II Tests

UMass Amherst grants advanced standing and/or credit for the College Board AP exams, but these credits will vary depending upon scores and subject matter. You may also receive credit for your SAT II Foreign Language scores.

For detailed information about how test scores translate into credit, you may download the following charts.

Note: You will need Adobe Acrobat Reader to view or print PDF documents.

There are two AP Charts listed here. The first is for new students who entered the university in Fall 2010 or later, while the second is for students who enrolled before Fall 2010.

AP Test Scores/Credit Chart for Students Who Entered in Fall 2010 or Later

AP Test Scores/Credit Chart for Students Enrolled Prior to Fall 2010 (PDF, 75K)

SAT II Subject Test Scores/Credit Chart (PDF)

Please send official copies of your AP and/or SAT Subject Test scores to UMass Amherst. Our CEEB # is 3917.

Please Note

AP credits may apply to graduation requirements, but they do not count toward your residence requirements (that is, up to 75 transfer credits can apply to graduation requirements; 45 residence credits must be earned through UMass Amherst; 60 credits if graduating with honors). In addition, no grade is granted for AP credits.
